The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is one of the first universities in Israel and is ranked within the top 100 universities in the world. It has campuses in Jerusalem - Har Hatzofim and Givat Ram and in the city
of Rehovot.

The Institute of Advanced Studies was opened in 1975 in Jerusalem’s Givat Ram. The institute serves as a research facility.

In 1981, the renewed Har Hatzofim Campus was inaugurated. The campus is the largest of the four campuses on which the Hebrew University operates and is the oldest and most central campus of the
University.

In 1985 the School of Veterinary Medicine was opened in the University’s Faculty of Agriculture in its City of Rehovot campus. It is the only academic institution in Israel which awards academic degrees in animal medicine.
